What we do

YourBestSavings.com tracks CD rates, high-yield savings account rates, money market account rates, and HSA provider fees across + FDIC-insured and NCUA-insured institutions. Every product is scored daily by APY, flexibility, and accessibility. Rankings reflect math — not commercial relationships.

We may earn a commission when you open an account through some of our links, at no extra cost to you. It never changes how accounts are scored or ranked. No institution has ever paid to appear on this site or to rank higher in our results.

What we cover

Certificates of Deposit (CDs) — we track + CD products across 3-month to 5-year terms, including standard CDs, no-penalty CDs, and bump-rate CDs. Every product has a verified source URL, a human-confirmed APY, and a daily score recalculation.

Money Market Accounts (MMAs) live products. MMAs offer high-yield rates with check-writing and debit access — the liquid alternative to a HYSA. Ranked by APY and accessibility. See the full MMA rankings.

High-Yield Savings Accounts (HYSAs) live products across the top online banks and fintechs. Ranked by APY, minimum deposit, and withdrawal flexibility.

Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) HSA providers ranked by monthly fees, investment access, cash APY, and usability. Includes calculators for tax savings and long-term investment growth.

Transfer bonuses — active bank and airline transfer bonuses, updated daily and cross-posted from YourBestCards.com.

How the data works

Our automated scan system checks the source page of every product each morning. When a rate change is detected, it’s flagged for human review before being applied to the database. Nothing auto-updates — every published rate has been verified by a person against the institution’s own website.

Each product record includes an apy_as_of date showing when the rate was last confirmed. If that date lapses more than seven days, the product is flagged as stale in our internal system. We target daily verification for all live products.

Early withdrawal penalties, minimum deposits, and fee structures are verified at the same time as APYs and updated whenever they change.

The scoring system

Every deposit product receives a composite score from 0–100. For CDs: APY (60%), early withdrawal flexibility (25%), minimum deposit accessibility (15%). For HYSAs and MMAs: APY (70%), minimum deposit (20%), withdrawal flexibility (10%). HSAs score on fees (40%), investment quality (35%), and usability (25%).

Scores recalculate automatically whenever any input changes. They are not updated on a schedule — they are always current. No institution can pay to improve their score. Full details are on our methodology page.

Why this matters for the rankings

Most “best savings rates” sites let commissions decide the order — the institutions paying the highest referral fees appear at the top, while the structurally best rates, often from small credit unions or online-only banks, get buried or omitted. Our rankings work the other way: the order is set purely by the math, so a bank that pays us nothing can rank #1 — and routinely does. We may earn a commission if you open an account through one of our links, but it never moves an account up or down.

Some links on this site are affiliate links, clearly labeled; unlabeled bank names link straight to the institution’s own rate page. Either way, commissions never change which accounts appear or how they rank — the order is decided by the math alone. See our affiliate disclosure.

About ByTheMath

YourBestSavings.com is published by ByTheMath, a financial data company based in the United States. We operate a small network of data-driven personal finance sites:

All sites in the ByTheMath network share the same operating principle: rankings are determined by math, not by margin. No institution can pay to be featured, reordered, or ranked higher. Operating costs are covered by data licensing and by affiliate commissions on some links — which never change the rankings.

Common questions
About YourBestSavings FAQ
Who runs YourBestSavings?

YourBestSavings is published by ByTheMath, a small publisher focused on math-based personal finance comparison. There is no parent company in the financial services industry and no investor pressure to monetize rankings. We may earn affiliate commissions on some links, but they never influence which products we include or how they rank.

How is YourBestSavings different from NerdWallet or Bankrate?

Big comparison sites typically order their “best rates” lists around who pays them, and filter to institutions in their affiliate programs. YourBestSavings lists every meaningful rate and ranks purely by the math — so small online banks and credit unions with genuinely top rates appear here regardless of whether they pay a commission. We may earn a commission on some, but it never changes what we list or the order.

Are the rates on this site accurate?

Rates are verified daily against each institution’s own rate page. Errors do happen — banks update rates between our checks, or we transcribe a number wrong. When we find an error or a reader reports one, it’s corrected within one business day and logged under our corrections policy.

How does YourBestSavings make money?

Two ways: affiliate commissions when you open an account through some of our links (at no extra cost to you), and data licensing to publishers. Neither ever changes which products we list or how they rank — the order is decided by the math alone. Details are in our affiliate disclosure.

How can I support YourBestSavings?

Subscribe to a rate alert — they’re free, but the email signups help us measure reach and justify continuing to publish. Share specific pages with people who’d benefit. Send corrections via the contact page when you spot something wrong.
